Laborers Trust Funds for Northern California
has four medical plan options for eligible Participants, based on their current status:
Laborers Managed Health Care Plan
A Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) plan which uses the Blue
Cross Prudent Buyer Plan’s network of participating hospitals, physicians and ancillary serviceproviders
who have agreed to provide medical care to plan participants at reduced rates.
Health Net
A Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) plan which provides two
comprehensive medical and health benefit services options only to our
Retiree participants: Health Net Regular for Non-Medicare Retiree ( “Regular Retiree”
) participants and Health Net “Seniority Plus” for Medicare-eligible Retiree ( “Medicare Risk”
) participants.
Kaiser Permanente of California
HMO plan which provides two comprehensive medical and health benefit
services options: Kaiser Active/Non-Medicare for Active and Non-Medicare Retiree participants and their eligible
dependents and Kaiser “Senior Advantage” for those Retiree participants who have become Medicare Eligible.
PacifiCare
HMO plan which provides two comprehensive medical and health benefit
services options only to our Retiree participants:
PacifiCare Regular for Non-Medicare Retiree ( “Regular Retiree” ) participants and “Secure
Horizons” for Medicare-eligible Retiree ( “Medicare Risk” ) participants.
If you live in an area which does not contain an HMO program, if eligible,
you will be covered by the Laborers Managed Health Care Plan.
